Re: Couplings! Anyone found any good method or parts?

For those who has built the original size, what couplings have you used? The printed ones I made was as described just for initial testing and they are clearly not up to the job for very long, at least not in PLA. There are of course many different ways of connecting shafts and traditionally in sma...

Re: 200% SB90 on a Creality Ender 3

I’ve made some more progress. The cabin, jet pumps and forward deck have all been printed and pieced together. I’ve put brass inserts everywhere on the pumps to make assembly and disassembly super simple. Just waiting for hobbyking to send the motors so I can get the last bulkhead in and start primi...

Hulls is almost done, paint prep and sanding is coming up next. Not looking forward to all that.

Re: 200% SB90 on a Creality Ender 3

Well, all the main hull pieces are printed. Started messing with the pumps. I melted some brass inserts into the pumps for the attaching hardware. After some chatting with Matsa about his 1/10th I’ve got an idea on electronics and running gear.

Re: SB-90 1/10 Scale

Thank you, that really helped me determine where I’m going to mount everything. I have my eyes on a set of 3660 1700kv motors from HobbyKing.

Are you running two 3S batteries in series to make it 6S? Also how man Mah are your batteries, I couldn’t tell if they’re 5000 or 6000.

Re: 200% SB90 on a Creality Ender 3

Hull sections one and two have been pieced together out of the 15 individual pieces. I used a soldering iron to first join them and create a channel. After that I went back with my pen to fill the voids and create a solid water tight hull.

Re: 200% SB90 on a Creality Ender 3

I’m going to start off by saying I was not paid to say this. I ordered a 3D pen from 3dsimo who’s based on the Czech Republic. I am already impressed by how fast this got to me. I ordered the pen Saturday, it shipped Monday and arrived Wednesday. From Europe to the US in 2 days. This pen is open sou...

Re: 200% SB90 on a Creality Ender 3

After spending some time with a soldering iron at a low temp I’ve joined some pieces. It’s really starting to hit me as to how big this model is going to be. I made channels with the soldering iron that I can fill later once I get my 3D pen to really make those pieces become one solid hull.

Re: 200% SB90 on a Creality Ender 3

After going to a 0.8 nozzle and 0.4 layer height I’ve DRASTICALLY shortened printing times on the hull pieces. I’ve also ordered a 3d pen that is capable of using PETG that I can use as a welder of sorts to assemble the hull sections.

Re: SB-90 1/10 Scale

Thank you, is there anyway you could share photos of the inside of your model. I have an idea of how I want to set mine up but it always helps to see the route someone else went.
